What does it look like to build something you care about and not burn out?

I’m not entirely sure. I don’t have all the answers. But I know it feels more imperative than ever to reframe hustle culture and push back against toxic productivity.

I share insights about sustainable creativity, reflections about the ongoing journey to be well, and links to tiny beautiful things in support of both.

Who’s behind the Healthier Hustle?

My name is Mary Chris Escobar. My own creative journey centers around my work as a writer, which at times has brought with it a heavy dose of burnout. I’ve also spent years in academia and currently work with highly creative students in the cross-disciplinary center for innovation at a large university.

I have masters degree in Counselor Education and am endlessly curious about holistic, authentic well-being (which is way more complicated than memes about self-care).

I’m always on the lookout for tiny beautiful things. Squirrels make me smile. Pizza is the perfect meal.
